I am a big believer of taking baby steps to improve whatever it might be we're working on. Today I want to share with you four (super easy to implement) habits that will help make your day better..
If you're anything like the rest of us. You have good days and not so good days. Because in life sometimes things turn out different from what we expect or want. But this shouldn't discourage you. Everything in life is about perspective. Here are four little habits that if applied consistently will dramatically help the quality of your day to day.
•# 1 Start your day right!
Nothing affects our day more than the energy we put out first thing in the morning. For this reason starting your day in a positive note is essential to having an amazing rest of the day. To help you with this write down three things you're thankful for. Whether a sentence or a simple word doesn't matter. The only rule is that you can't repeat the same things you wrote the days prior. Do this consistently and the day will keep bringing things to be thankful for!
•#2 Eat right!
I don't mean go on a diet or adopt an overnight vegetarian lifestyle. I'm talking about small permanent changes that can grow over time. For example maybe you can up the amount of water you're drinking everyday and maybe go for the banana instead of the muffin when your sweet tooth attacks. Small consistent changes are better than drastic ones. Fueling your body with the right foods will not only make you feel better about yourself and your self control but will also inevitably and literally make you feel better from the inside out! Go ahead and throw that fruit in your lunch bag!
• #3 Move that body!
Again not telling you to go to boot camp or lift a hundred pounds. Unless that works for you! Here like before make small changes for the better. Changes you know you can keep. How about a fifteen minute walk after lunch or perhaps going out to the park with your kids or by yourself if you have non? Running for ten minutes is better than not running at all. So whatever rocks your boat and makes you feel like your pushing enough to change for the better. Put the comfy shoes on and off you go!
•#4 Journal two minutes about something positive.
As they say 'the best for last'. At the end of your day journal for about two minutes about something positive that happened to you that day. It could be big or small. A lesson learned, maybe a great conversation you had with your coworker. Let your brain search for that thing that felt right and write it down. Sometimes the most mundane little things are actually pretty cool and win the award for the 'highlight of the day'!
I can't promise you everyday will be dreamy but I can assure you that it is possible to train our brains to search for the better in each day. The positive in the middle of pure chaos. Everything has a reason to be. All that happens has the potential to be a lesson learned if we just pay attention with open hearts. Remember to be kind to yourself. You're doing your best and that's more than good enough!
Until next time Lovelies!
